Welcome to the Island Red Fox Research Project. This recently launched scientific research program focuses on studying the red foxes (Vulpes vulpes) of San Juan Island in the Pacific Northwest. In partnership with landowners, land stewards and other stakeholders, the project employs non-invasive methods to gather behavioral and ecological data on the fox population. Our goal is to better understand red fox behavior and cognition in this ecologically diverse landscape.
